Spanish Associate Teacher

 

Brentwood School, a vibrant and diverse K-12 independent school, is looking for an Associate Teacher to support our K-5 Lower School Spanish program alongside our Spanish Lead Specialist Teacher.  This position begins August 2026.  We are seeking individuals from independent, public, private, or charter schools. BA required; master’s degree, student teaching and experience in a school environment strongly preferred.

Essential Duties:

  • Teach daily K-5 Spanish classes in coordination and collaboration with the Spanish Lead Teacher.
  • Assist in the planning, preparation and organization of instructional materials to support Spanish lessons across all Lower School grades
  • Plan, support, and facilitate the Spanish curriculum alongside the Spanish Lead Teacher
  • Engage and support students from varied identities, lifestyles, and beliefs
  • Contribute creative ideas, including games, lessons, and dynamic activities, that align with the existing curriculum to enhance student learning
  • Observe classroom dynamics and student engagement to inform instructional practices
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the school’s administrative team, including supervision during lunch and recess

While being vaccinated for COVID-19 is not required, it is strongly recommended.

COMPENSATION:  Brentwood School’s diverse and talented faculty includes Teaching Associates who are newer to the profession. The salaries for Associate Teachers range from $61,500 to $83,500 based upon years of experience beyond student teaching and education. Salary ranges do not include benefits i.e. 403b retirement matching, paid lunch time, free breakfast and lunch, free parking, subsidy toward medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D plans, and generous time off. The pay range is an estimate and is not guaranteed. If hired, your actual base salary will be determined by your education and experience.
